Lantern in vehicle to replace Olympic torch relay

The relay of the Olympic flame that arrived to Japan from Greece on March 12 will start Thursday as planned in northeastern Fukushima prefecture but will be carried by a lantern via a vehicle along what organizers hope will be empty roadsides.
